Certificates- Teachers making certificates is a great way for a teacher to award their students whether it is from hard work or for helping out or even just a birthday. Doing it on word helps out even more you can save your template and just add the name each time. Also loook at another.
Calendar- Not only will making a calendar help the teacher out but also it keeps the students and the parents up to date with the happenings at the school or in the classroom. The template makes the job even easier because all you have to do is type in each months listings.
Grades and Attendance- This is great because you can keep this one spread sheet running all year round. Having to only press a few buttons to make the calculations also helps a teacher out from having to do math by hand each time she needs to calculate an average or attendance.
Newsletter- The newsletter is more for the parents in a classroom than the teacher. The letter keeps the parents posted of what their child is learning, doing, and the happenings of the classroom. Also like all other of the tools if you keep the template it makes it easier each week for the teacher. Check it out page one and two.
Seating Chart- The seating chart and classroom setup gives the teacher an idea of how they might want to have the classroom looking before they come in foe the school year. Even more than that with a sub it helps out the most so they can know where everyone belongs. Doing this on PowerPoint helps out because each time a sub comes in you would have to do it by hand but just click and move if something had changed.
Pictograph- This one I believe is the most neat for kindergarten, when a child that young looks at a graph they most likely get confused. However when they look at this they can see pictures and they are able to think of it easier since they came up the data.
Nametag- Each teacher at the beginning of the year must have nametags because learning all the names are tough, but what might be tougher is making the cute little name tags by hand having to cut, paste, and color each one. Whether you copy a template or make your own being able to print it out makes it easier and you can save it for the next year.
Worksheet- Some teachers use them all the time other use them only when they have to, but regardless being able to find one online and just print it off makes the idea of worksheets so much easier for a teacher who has to hurry to find an activity.
LESSON PLANS
Lesson One-In lesson one the students are able to use powerpoint, and also research their family. I think this is a great thing for a kindergarten student can do later in the year once they have already used the powerpoint software before. On a LoTi scale i would give this a 2 on the scale becasue students will still need alot of teacher assistance and the research they will be doing is , will not be on the computer but at home with theie parents.
Lesson Two- I also picked to use powerpoint for this lesson too becasue I felt that powerpoint would be the esaiest for a kindergarten child to use. In this one they get to research on the internet and then use powerpoint to set up a presentation. Many grades could use this as a project but just modify it according to what age they are. On the Loti scale i believe it again would be a 2 because the students would do alot of help again, however this time the research could be done on the internet.
Lesson Three- Again I picked powerpoint but more than any of the other two I feel like this one fits a kindergarten child the best. This one they are not only learning powerpoint but also their ABC's . They get to make a slide show with each slide a different letter. This one i would give a 2 again on the LoTi scale because for this grade level it is though to get past what i believe most people would consider a level two.
