Doing the iMovie has been the most useful project yet. I say this because coming in I knew nothing about iMovie and what it had to offer and now I do. The program was easy to learn and also easy to work with. The short movie we choose to do was geared toward the kindergarten grade level. The skills we introduce is money, the trade of money, counting money, and how money is equal to one another, for example ten pennies also equals one dime. The movie is not the lesson itself but a introduction that a teacher could use for the class. We had Collin act as a child to earn the money he spends in the school store and then pay the teacher. I really enjoyed being able to work with all the equipment to shoot the movie and also to edit the movie it was a great way to learn. You can check out the short iMovie right here.
The next for lessons are the four we needed to fin for research. Feelings from A to Z, A Living Alphabet, We Can Dance, and A Counting Photo Book, I picked each of these because in each the students would either get to be part of the i Movie or help make part of the iMovie. Feelings from A to Z the students are able to act out different feelings and research different words to make each slide. When doing this you could assign a letter to each child so they can make their ouwn slide with their own picture. In A Living Alphabet the students get to work as a group in forming the letters and will most likely find entertainment in watching themselves and their classmates in different shapes and also gives the teacher a great tool for teaching the letters. In We Can Dance the students get to be active and move around and get energy but also learn how to use the computer when they are putting a simple iMovie like this together. Lastly , A Counthing Photo Book is more still images, students would be able to use this as a resource they can look back at or recall different memory joggers when learning their numbers and counthing.
